Questions for CMS on Part A-to-Part B? Send Them Here

Original story posted on: November 29, 2011

c-buckAs many of you are aware, CMS unveiled the Part A-to-Part B Rebilling Demonstration Program on Nov. 15.

CMS has released general information about the program, including that it will allow a specific number of hospitals (selected on a first-come, first-serve basis) to receive 90 percent reimbursement of the Part B payment for a Part A inpatient claim denied for lack of medical necessity due to services not being provided in an appropriate care setting.

CMS also announced that it would conduct two identical Special Open Door Forums. One was held on Nov. 30 and the next one takes place on Thursday, Dec. 8.

There are many unanswered questions regarding the program that could affect a hospital's decision whether to submit an application. These questions should be answered during the CMS forums. Therefore, RACmonitor.com, in conjunction with Wachler & Associates, P.C., would like to serve as an intermediary between our readers and CMS. We will accept readers' questions regarding the demonstration program, organize them and submit them to CMS, prior to Dec. 8. We will request that CMS answer the questions during the Special Open Door Forums.

Please send your questions to RACmonitor as soon as possible. We will submit questions to CMS as soon as possible. Questions should be sent to editor@racmonitor.com.
