The Fallout Continues: Skilled Nursing Facilities in the Crosshairs

Original story posted on: March 19, 2016

Fallout continues from Monitor Mondays’ broadcast last week, during which it was reported that Recovery Auditors (RA) are now authorized by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to go after skilled nursing facilities (SNFs). Mark McDavid, OTR, RAC-CT, president of Seagrove Rehab Consulting + Education, will explain the potential liability for SNF providers and how to respond to this important issue.

Former CMS official Stanley Sokolove will continue his reporting on just how dicey the requirements are for facilities to seek provider-based status.

Healthcare attorney David Glaser, a shareholder in the law firm of Fredrickson & Byron, also will return with another example of “Risky Business” — a subject elevated in importance by intense regulatory focus on facilities and providers. Also on board will be Monitor Mondays National Correspondent J. Paul Spencer, who has been monitoring the Medicaid RAs.

Nancy Beckley, president and CEO for Nancy Beckley and Associates, will have all the hot topics and the Monitor Mondays Listener Survey.

Additionally, Ronald Hirsch, MD, vice president of Accretive Physician Advisory Services, will make his Monday rounds.
